Armed/Unarmed School Security Patrol Officer (GRAVEYARD PART-TIME)

Orange County Public Safety is a community-based private security company, seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team. This part time opportunity is an excellent way to supplement your income while working in a dynamic organization. Our officers patrol and secure assigned premises as well as identify risks to staff and patrons. For those individuals looking to pursue careers in law enforcement, OCPS can help you build a strong foundation and develop solid skills toward that goal while networking with local law enforcement agencies.

Responsibilities include:

• Respond to alarms for activation investigation
• Respond to requests for services
• Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
• Thoroughly examine doors/windows/gates to ensure proper function and security
• Warn violators of premise rules and regulations
• Apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
• Report any damages to client property
• Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations
• Interface with law enforcement/other public safety entities during patrol activities
• Work closely with staff/faculty at various locations to meet their needs

Position:

• Part-time
• 2-3 days a week as needed (NO SET SCHEDULES AVAILABLE)
• Hours vary. Shifts are Primarily WEEKEND swing/graveyard positions FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY. Potentially opportunities for WEEKDAYS swing/graveyard positions.

Qualifications:

• Must maintain a professional uniform presence and adhere to all company uniform and grooming policies
• Current BSIS Security Guard Card (REQUIRED TO APPLY)
• Current BSIS Baton Certification (REQUIRED TO APPLY)
• Current BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit (MUST BE 21+; THIS REQUIREMENT ONLY WHEN APPLYING FOR ARMED POSITION)
• Current Taser Training Certification (REQUIRED TO APPLY)
• Valid Pepper Spray/OC Certificate (REQUIRED TO APPLY)
• Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
• Current First Aid certification (EMT/Paramedic supersedes this requirement)

• The following certifications are preferred but not required:
• P.C. 832
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military or other related fields (Highly Desirable)
• Familiarity with security equipment
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
• Ability to pass a pre-employment DMV driving record check
• Ability to follow directions
• Ability to make decisions in stressful situations
• Ability to lift 50lbs+ at times
• Height/weight proportionate
