Armed Security Guard

Beauty 2 The Streetz, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the homeless population in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a qualified and experienced Part-time Armed Security Guard to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our staff, volunteers, clients, and resources during outreach events and activities.

Responsibilities:

• Provide armed security services to protect Beauty 2 The Streetz personnel, assets, and facilities during outreach events, distribution activities, and other designated assignments.
• Conduct regular patrols of designated areas to detect and deter unauthorized access, vandalism, theft, or other security threats.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to security breaches or suspicious activities promptly.
• Enforce organization policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, volunteers, and clients.
• Respond to emergencies, disturbances, or incidents as needed, following established protocols and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and detailed logs of security incidents, activities, and observations.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and other security personnel as necessary to address security concerns and ensure effective coordination of efforts.
• Conduct security screenings, bag checks, and other security measures as directed to prevent the introduction of contraband or prohibited items into Beauty 2 The Streetz facilities or events.
• Provide assistance and support to staff, volunteers, and clients as needed, including directing individuals to appropriate resources or services.
• Must be available on weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications:

• Valid California Guard Card and Exposed Firearm Permit required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an armed security guard, preferably in a nonprofit or social services setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in security, law enforcement, or related fields preferred.
• Must possess excellent judgment, decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and/or patrol for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Beauty 2 The Streetz and a passion for serving the homeless population.

Salary: $20 – $25 per hour based on experience.
