Armed Public Safety Officer

Duties

• Conduct regular patrols of premises using surveillance tools and manual inspections to deter unauthorized access and identify potential threats
• Manage access control systems by verifying credentials and performing background checks on visitors and contractors
• Respond promptly to security incidents, utilizing conflict de-escalation techniques and emergency procedures to ensure safety
• Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other occurrences with clarity and accuracy
• Operate security equipment such as Taser devices, firearms, AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and perform CPR when necessary during emergencies
• Perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks during patrols or incident responses while maintaining safety protocols
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or emergencies, providing support through surveillance footage and incident documentation

Skills

• Proven experience in surveillance operations, law enforcement, military service, or private security environments
• Strong knowledge of physical security measures including access control systems and firearm handling
• Excellent conflict management and de-escalation skills to handle tense situations professionally
• Ability to perform background checks accurately and efficiently in compliance with regulations
• Skilled in incident report writing with attention to detail for legal and operational purposes
• Proficient in emergency response procedures including first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety protocols
• Capable of heavy lifting, manual handling, and performing physically demanding tasks while maintaining safety standards
• Exceptional customer service skills to interact courteously with staff, visitors, and contractors while enforcing policies
