Job Description

As a Security Officer – Armed Front Desk in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transportation, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced transportation location as a Front Desk Officer, where you will greet staff and visitors, manage access control and badging, verify credentials, monitor cameras and alarms, and document incidents with clear communication. This is an armed post requiring a valid armed guard card or license. Bring teamwork, integrity, and a people-first mindset to help support smooth daily operations and a strong customer experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and/or drivers by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate the front desk by greeting and screening visitors, issuing visitor credentials, verifying identification, and directing authorized individuals to the appropriate location.
  • Control access at the reception area by monitoring entry points, processing employee, contractor, and/or vendor check-ins, and assisting with badging and access requests per site guidelines.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or communication systems from the front desk and report suspicious activity and/or policy violations to site management and/or local authorities as directed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, document events in daily activity logs, and complete required reports for supervisors and/or the client.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3+ years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Have an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Have a corrections officer license.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
