    PRIMARY PURPOSE:
    The Parking Lot Attendant / Security Guard is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the school’s parking areas, directing vehicular traffic, assisting staff/students/visitors, and monitoring campus access. This position ensures orderly arrival and dismissal procedures, enforces parking policies, supports overall campus safety, and serves as a visible point of contact for the school community.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum Education/Certification:
    • High School Diploma
    • Valid Texas Driver’s License

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Ability to operate two-way radio communication equipment
    • Basic report-writing skills
    • Ability to remain calm under pressure
    • Ability to pass background check and district security clearance

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Safety & Security
    • The Parking Lot Attendant/Security Guard does not administer student discipline but reports violations to campus administration for action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
    • Monitor and patrol all campus parking lots and adjacent areas to deter unauthorized access, vandalism, and unsafe behavior.
    • Observe school grounds and report suspicious activity or safety concerns immediately to campus administrators and/or police.
    • Assist in implementing school safety protocols during arrival, dismissal, and special events.
    • Conduct regular walkthroughs of lots to ensure security and compliance with district policies.

    Traffic & Parking Control
    • Direct vehicle traffic during peak times ensure smooth flow and prevent congestion.
    • Enforce assigned parking areas and ensure vehicles are parked in authorized zones.
    • Support visitor parking procedures and provide directions as needed.
    • Adjust traffic cones, barricades, and signage per campus procedures.
    • Must maintain constant situational awareness around moving vehicles.

    Customer Service & Communication
    • Greet students, staff, parents, and visitors; provide assistance and information regarding parking, safety protocols, campus layout, and general inquiries.
    • Maintain positive and professional interactions with the school community.
    • Communicate clearly via radio or phone with administrators and security partners.

    Documentation & Administrative Duties
    • Maintain accurate records of incidents, enforcement actions, and daily parking usage.
    • Prepare written reports for school leadership or district safety personnel.
    • Complete logs for arrival/dismissal counts, traffic issues, and safety concerns.
    • Maintain familiarity with parking permit systems and documentation.

    Other Responsibilities
    • Assist with crowd and vehicle control during school hours.
    • Support emergency response procedures and evacuations as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by school administration and direct supervisor.
    • Work schedule may include early morning arrival duty and afternoon dismissal supervision based on campus needs.

    Working Conditions:
    Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors around moving vehicles. Must be able to work in extreme heat, cold, rain, and other outdoor conditions.
    The role requires frequent interaction with students, staff, and visitors, and regular alertness to ensure safety standards are upheld.

    Physical Demands/ Environment Factors:
    Constant visual and auditory attention, ability to walk and stand for extended periods, and sufficient mobility to patrol parking areas are required.
    • Salary is commensurate with experience
    • Minimum Salary $22,788.96
    • Works 197-day Contract
    • Please note that this role requires in-person attendance and is not eligible for remote work.
