Lv3 Armed Security Officer – Catholic Academy (Part Time, M and Th, 8a-4p)

Permanent Part-Time Post – Mondays & Thursdays | 8:00 AM–4:00 PM | 16 hrs/week
Pay Rate: $25/hr

MUST HOLD A VALID TEXAS LEVEL III COMMISSIONED SECURITY LICENSE TO BE CONSIDERED.
Please do not apply without an active and current Level III license.

This is a permanent, community-based position at a Catholic academy. The officer assigned will become a familiar, trusted presence on campus each Monday and Thursday. Ideal candidates will have experience in school security, crisis response, or backgrounds in military or law enforcement. Applicants must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and the ability to engage positively with children, staff, and families.

Position Highlights

• Permanent weekly schedule: Mondays & Thursdays, 8a–4p
• 16 hours per week
• $25/hour
• Uniform shirt with patches provided; officer supplies personal duty gear
• Tactical vest highly preferred but not required
• Part-time officers receive priority for additional future hours and permanent posts

Preferred Backgrounds

• School-based security or school officer experience
• Active shooter response training
• Crisis management & emergency coordination
• Prior law enforcement or military service strongly encouraged
• Candidates with 7+ years of private security experience encouraged to apply

Core Responsibilities

• Campus Patrol & Surveillance:
• Maintain a visible, reassuring presence on school grounds
• Identify and deter suspicious, unsafe, or unauthorized activity
• Safety & Crisis Response:
• Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies according to school and company protocols
• Participate in safety drills and support emergency action plans
• Access Control:
• Monitor building entry points
• Ensure only authorized individuals access school facilities
• Conflict Resolution:
• Professionally de-escalate conflicts
• Manage sensitive or stressful situations calmly and discreetly
• Customer & Community Engagement:
• Interact positively with students, staff, families, and visitors
• Represent Ophion Tactical and the academy with professionalism and courtesy
• Report Writing & Documentation:
• Complete daily activity logs and incident reports accurately
• Weapon & Equipment Handling:
• Safely carry and maintain your Level III–certified firearm
• Maintain all issued and personal equipment in proper working order

Required Qualifications

• Valid Texas Level III Commissioned Security License (non-negotiable)
• Your own firearm certified under your Level III license
• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation and a predictable, consistent schedule
• Ability to work well with children and maintain a calm, friendly presence
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Clean criminal background and eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Physically capable of standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods

Ideal Candidates Also Have

• Previous school security experience
• Training in crisis intervention or emergency management
• The ability to work independently and alongside school staff
• A professional demeanor and strong sense of responsibility
