Security Technician
POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsibilities include, but not limited to configuring, installing, dismantling, reconstructing, and programming and security related systems as required by customer and directed by Supervisor or PM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, diagnose, and repair various access control systems, video surveillance systems and alarm intrusion systems.
- Install, repair, and maintain security systems; perform regular maintenance to prevent break downs; diagnose problems with computerized systems and determine course of action and perform repair.
- Plan security alarm installations by surveying and evaluating location; identifying alarm installation requirements; laying-out equipment and wiring plan.
- Establish security systems by installing equipment and associated cabling; programming and calibrating equipment; adhering to BICSI codes, regulations, and IESS standards.
- Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures. Tests operation of equipment to signal-receiving center to properly establish.
- Verify security systems functioning by testing equipment, connections, and signals, identifying and correcting problems.
- Maintain records by documenting installation, locations, panel types, usernames, passwords, IP address and Mac address.
- Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and clean up installation debris.
- Perform additional assignments per manager’s direction.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in Access Control, preferably with AMAG, Brivo and or DSX.
- Knowledge of Brivo, Eagle Eye, Lenel, Open Options, Software House, Avigilon, Hanwa, and Wave preferred.
- Experience with CCTV, Intercom and Burg experience.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Must be able to lift 50-80 pounds.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Must pass a background check, pre-employment drug test, and security license.
