Job Title: Security Officer – Residential Community

Location: Havre de Grace, MD

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Averages 30–40 hours per week; shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Position Summary

Dunbar is looking for a reliable, dedicated Security Officer to help keep residents, visitors, and property safe and secure at a residential community.

Responsibilities

• Patrol community grounds, residential areas, clubhouses, and amenities to help maintain a safe, secure environment
• Conduct regular inspections and use surveillance systems to identify potential concerns
• Respond promptly to incidents and contact emergency services when necessary
• Help prevent vandalism and trespassing by upholding community rules and policies
• Create detailed digital incident and activity reports
• Perform regular exterior patrols and secure access points
• Monitor and control access points, verifying visitors, vendors, and contractors
• Support property management with additional safety duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Maryland security guard certification, or ability to obtain
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Ability to remain calm and professional in difficult situations
• Clear, respectful communication skills
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors during patrols
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed

Additional shifts may be available for those interested in extra hours.
