JOB TITLE : SECURITY OFFICER

SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: DIRECTOR OF SECURITY

BASIC FUNCTION: The Security Officer will focus on the interior and exterior security through manual observation and the use of on-site cameras. He/she will be responsible for using Security protocol in monitoring the interior and exterior of the facility, whether dwellings or parking lots, checking to ensure that the entrances and exits are controlled and secure, and report any observation of a crime of potential offense immediately to the proper hierarchy of the church and local authorities. The ideal candidate for this position has a background in security and a professional disposition. Preference will be placed on the individual with the needed qualifications and requirements as mentioned in this job description.

REQUIREMENTS

Have and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a State of Texas Level III Certification which emphasis is placed on to interview for this position. No exceptions!
Must be 21 or more years of age.
Must have the availability to work various hours (days/nights) weekdays and weekends.
Must possess the ability to protect personnel and church properties through use of security training, which will require being on your feet, working in various weather conditions, and the ability to interact with individuals mentally unstable if confronted.
Need the ability to observe signs of criminal offenses or disorder and investigate disturbances.
Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property.
Report and aid local authorities in the apprehension of criminals and evict violators.
Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences and write detailed reports of incidents. 
Patrol randomly or regularly in and around church buildings and surrounding church properties.
Monitor and control violators parking illegally or without consent in church owned parking lots.
Monitor and control access into the building
