Unarmed Security Officer

Job Summary

VETS SECURING AMERICA (VSA) is currently hiring Unarmed Security Officers to provide security services for a busy Distribution Center in Newark, Ohio. We are seeking professional, customer-focused individuals who can effectively manage access control, maintain accurate records, and support facility operations while ensuring a safe and secure environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, excellent customer service abilities, and experience working in logistics, warehouse, or distribution center environments.

Shift Availability

• 1:45 PM to 10:00 PM
• 9:45 PM to 6:00 AM

Days Available: Seven days per week, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Check in inbound trucks for scheduled deliveries and pickups.
• Complete distribution center documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Assign load tags and trailer door numbers to incoming drivers.
• Check out outbound trucks and verify shipment requirements.
• Inspect and verify empty trailers prior to loading.
• Break and reapply trailer seals according to site procedures.
• Enforce facility security policies and access control regulations.
• Document incidents and maintain detailed activity logs.
• Provide professional customer service to drivers, employees, and visitors.
• Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques when handling difficult situations.

Minimum QualificationsRequired

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Current Ohio Unarmed Security Guard Card.
• Ability to work assigned shifts and weekends.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to remain professional in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Knowledge of inbound and outbound distribution center procedures.
• Experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution center security.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong verbal de-escalation and conflict-resolution abilities.
