PROFESSIONAL ARMED SECURITY OFFICER

Armed Security Officers must have an OPOTA Certificate, Baton Permit, Chemical Agent Permit, TASER Certification (Optional)

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is for a Swing or Night shift officer. Saturday and Sunday availability each week is a must. Potential to obtain additional shifts, is possible, if necessary.

Armed Security Officers are responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of your assigned post. Armed Security Officers are tasked with patrolling a designated area, responding to safety and security threats, and establishing a security presence. Armed Security Officers may be asked to perform many essential functions and duties at their assigned post to include, but not limited to:

• Assume overall responsibility for the safety and security of designated areas.
• Patrol designated areas in accordance with established security procedures.
• Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly.
• Complete Incident Reports and required documentation for all security incidents.
• Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all personnel, visitors and post.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas promptly and according to policy.
• Assist employees and visitors with any concerns they might have.
• Escalate emergency situations to Law Enforcement as necessary.
• Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must have an Ohio OPOTA certificate prior to hire.
• Preferred: Baton Permit, Chemical Agent Permit, TASER Certification (Optional), must acquire within (3) months of employment.
• Must be able to meet and continue to meet all Ohio security licensing requirements for Armed Security Officers.
• One (1) year of armed security experience, or former military (with Honorable Discharge), or former Law Enforcement.
• Working knowledge of basic security techniques.
• Availability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Comfortable kneeling, carrying, bending, walking and standing for extended periods of time.
• Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing.
• Neat and professional appearance, in accordance with established company standards.
• Ability to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to wear issued uniform.
• No Misdemeanor or Felony Convictions.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to pass background check.

AVAILABILITY

• This weekend position is for a swing and night shift officer. Saturday and Sunday each week. Potential to obtain additional shifts, is possible, if necessary.
• Armed posts only. Daily location may vary.
• Armed Security Officers will be offered a full-time position upon successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
• Promotional opportunities may be available for the right individuals.

EMPLOYER OFFERINGS

• Weekend Shift Security Officer position salary is based on the individual’s experience. Pay is hourly based ranging between $20-25 per hour.
