Job Description

As a Security Officer – Unarmed Site Patrol in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entrances and assigned areas, complete routine patrol rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to reduce security-related incidents. You will observe activity, document and report concerns, and support staff and visitors through clear, professional communication. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including docks, yard areas, and parking lots, to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and vehicle traffic by verifying identification, controlling entry and exit, and directing drivers and visitors to the appropriate staging and/or check-in areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and/or property damage to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Complete detailed reports and logs using required systems, documenting patrol activity, incidents, and observations in accordance with post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer Service Experience is preferred.
• Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
