Unarmed Security Guard

Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Unarmed Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring the property, preventing unauthorized access, and responding promptly to incidents. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observation skills, and the ability to handle various situations with professionalism. Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, or security is a plus, along with certifications in first aid and CPR.

Responsibilities:

• Assures a safe and secure environment.
• Guards, patrols, or monitors premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
• Warns persons of rule infractions or violations and evicts violators from premises, using force when/if necessary.
• Patrols premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Answers alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintains security of premises.
• Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Operates detecting devices to screen individuals and prevents passage of prohibited articles.

Performs duties while maintaining good service excellence and service recovery skills at all times.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma. Some College or Higher Education preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in retail or event space security.

Licensure/Certification: PERC card required, CPR and First Aid certifications a plus.

Knowledge: Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to interact effectively and politely with staff, clients, vendors, and guests.

Working Conditions: Work hazards are associated with potential misconduct in the surrounding areas of the venue. Exposure to agitated guests who may exhibit violent/aggressive/drunken behavior.

Physical Requirements: Physical agility to make rounds.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
