Availability: Must be available Fridays & Saturdays

About the Position

Professional Security Consultants (PSC) is currently accepting applications for Part-Time Security Officers at Chicago Ridge Mall. This position is ideal for individuals who are customer-focused, observant, and thrive in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver superior customer service; maintain a friendly, approachable, and professional presence
• Monitor for irregularities including security risks, safety hazards, and emergency situations
• Respond to incidents and contact emergency services (police, fire, EMS) when necessary
• Identify and address unauthorized individuals or violations of property policies
• Conduct routine patrols of the property, both interior and exterior
• Respond promptly to radio calls and on-site incidents (medical, disturbances, accidents, etc.)
• Document incidents and complete detailed, accurate reports
• Issue tenant and vehicle notifications (parking, lease line, trash violations)
• Communicate maintenance and safety concerns (lighting, hazards, etc.) to dispatch
• Utilize mobile tour systems and complete assigned inspections
• Perform vehicle inspections if assigned to mobile patrol

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs for extended periods
• Ability to observe and respond effectively in both day and night conditions
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations
• Ability to learn and apply policies, procedures, and site-specific protocols
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (training provided if needed)
• Familiarity with handheld radios and communication devices

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must be able to obtain a State of Illinois Guard Card (PERC)
• Clean driving record with ability to provide a driving abstract
• Reliable, self-motivated, and professional demeanor
• Must report to work on time and in proper uniform
• Ability to follow post orders and participate in daily briefings
• Complete all required documentation and equipment sign-in/out procedures
