ARMED SECURITY OFFICER – CHICAGO, IL

Overview

Seeking highly professional, dependable, and experienced Armed Security Officers to join our team. We provide security services across multiple locations in the Chicago area and are looking for officers who take pride in their work, maintain strong situational awareness, and represent our company with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible, professional security presence at assigned post.
• Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols as required.
• Monitor property, access points, and surveillance areas.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies promptly and appropriately.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and passdowns.
• Enforce site rules, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other officers.
• Conduct regular patrols of the property, including entrances, exits, and sensitive areas, to deter unauthorized access and ensure safety.
• Monitor CCTV surveillance systems continuously to identify suspicious activity or security breaches.
• Verify the identity of visitors, contractors, and employees through thorough screening procedures.
• Enforce loss prevention protocols by observing for theft or vandalism and taking appropriate action.
• Maintain detailed incident reports, shift logs, and security records accurately and promptly.
• Utilize conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations while upholding professionalism at all times.

Requirements

• Valid security license or certification as required by Illinois law for armed security personnel.
• Must possess a valid PERC and Armed Security FOID/Firearm Certification.
• Must have reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
• Must be able to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
• Must be professional in appearance, communication, and conduct.
• Must be able to write clear, detailed reports.
• Prior security or law enforcement experience preferred.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
