Event Security Guard

Overview
WorkWhile is hiring licensed Event Security Guards in Austin, TX for an upcoming event. This is a great opportunity to work high-energy events while gaining hands-on security experience in a professional environment.

Event Details:

• Venue: 921 Red River Street Austin TX 78701
• Date: Starting March 21st, 2026
• Shift: 5:00PM – 12:30 AM CST
• Pay Rate: $19/hr
• Dress Code: Closed-toe shoes, Long pants, Khaki pants, Plain undershirt (white, grey, black)

Responsibilities

• Monitor for irregularities such as security breaches, safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency responders (police, fire, and/or medical) as required
• Remain alert for unauthorized individuals or security violations; approach suspicious persons and/or notify law enforcement as appropriate
• Patrol assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle to ensure the safety of people, property, and equipment
• Inspect doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper security; use client keys to open and secure buildings as needed
• Monitor closed buildings for unauthorized access or suspicious activity
• Prepare routine, standardized incident and activity reports
• Provide escorts to staff or guests as necessary
• Inform and warn individuals of rule infractions (e.g., loitering, smoking, or carrying prohibited items)
• Detain violators when required, following policy, until law enforcement arrive

Certificates & Experience Required

• Customer Service Experience
• *Current Texas Guard Card

• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs for extended periods
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
• Ability to understand and follow general and client-specific policies and procedures
• Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
• Ability to respond appropriately and calmly in emergency situations
