Duties

• Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV to detect and respond to suspicious activity or security breaches
• Conduct thorough patrols of the premises, including buildings, parking areas, and perimeter fences to ensure physical security
• Manage access control systems by verifying identities and authorizing entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors
• Respond promptly to emergencies using established procedures including first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety protocols
• Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other noteworthy events with clarity and accuracy
• Perform background checks on visitors or personnel when required to uphold security standards
• Enforce compliance with security regulations and company policies while managing conflicts through conflict de-escalation techniques
• Utilize manual handling skills for heavy lifting or moving security equipment safely during patrols or incident responses

Skills

• Proficiency in surveillance technology including CCTV systems and access control systems
• Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and emergency response protocols
• Experience with incident report writing and maintaining detailed logs of daily activities
• Ability to perform background checks and conduct thorough security screenings
• Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with staff and visitors
• Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, Taser use, and fire safety preferred
• Physical fitness to perform patrolling duties involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
• Familiarity with security regulations related to physical security, firearm handling (if applicable), and compliance standards
• Conflict management skills to effectively de-escalate tense situations while maintaining safety
