Job Description

Position: Armed Security Officer (Flex Position) – Up to 40 Hours per Week

Assignment: CPS Physical Protection Agent

Compensation:

  • Level III: $25.00 per hour
  • Level IV: $27.00 per hour

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Level III or Level IV Security License.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of consistent experience working as a registered Level III or Level IV Security Officer reflected in TOPS.

Schedule:

  • Up to 40 hours per week; hours may fluctuate based on operational needs.
  • Assignments are scheduled based on CPS placement activity and client requirements.

Available Shifts:

  • 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Rotating Schedule:

  • Work 3 days one week and 4 days the following week.

Start Date:

  • Contingent upon successful completion of the required background check and onboarding process.

Requirements:

  • Current Texas Armed Security License (Level III or IV)
  • Registered in TOPS for at least 3 years
  • Minimum 3 years of armed security experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Clean criminal background

Preferred Background:

  • Former law enforcement, military, or corrections experience is a plus

Required Equipment:
Candidates must provide their own equipment, including:

  • Firearm
  • Duty belt
  • Flashlight
  • Handcuffs
  • Gloves
  • Baton
  • Outer carrier vest with plates (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Taser (only if certified; certification must be provided)

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an armed security officer or guard
  • Knowledge of legal guidelines related to security and public safety
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Excellent surveillance and observation skills
  • First Aid/BLS and self-defense training preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Situational awareness and professionalism

Duties:

  • Serve as a highly visible deterrent to crime
  • Protect life, property, staff, and clients
  • Observe and report activities and incidents
  • Conduct periodic patrols and inspections
  • Assist employees and visitors during emergencies
  • Respond appropriately to alarms, fires, or unauthorized persons
  • Warn violators of rule infractions and enforce site policies

Pay: $25.00 – $27.00 per hour
