Security & Access Control Technician

We are seeking an experienced and professional Security & Access Control Technician to join our team in the Marble Falls area. This position is responsible for the installation, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic security and access control systems in residential, commercial, educational, and government environments.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as both a Security Technician and an Access Control Technician, along with a strong understanding of IP networking and low-voltage systems. This individual must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot residential and commercial intrusion alarm systems.
• Install, configure, and service electronic access control systems, including controllers, readers, locks, door hardware, and credentials.
• Install and commission IP-based surveillance camera systems and associated network equipment.
• Pull, terminate, test, and label CAT5e, CAT6, fiber optic, and other low-voltage cabling.
• Program and troubleshoot security panels, access control devices, cameras, and network-connected equipment.
• Configure and troubleshoot wired and wireless network connectivity for security devices.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and service calls.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, wiring, and network-related issues.
• Accurately document installations, service work, and system changes.
• Provide professional customer training upon project completion.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a clean and organized manner.
• Follow all company policies and OSHA safety standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Security Technician and/or Access Control Technician.
• Experience installing, programming, and servicing commercial and residential electronic security systems.
• Proficiency with access control systems, including controllers, readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, request-to-exit devices, and related hardware.
• Strong understanding of IP networking, including TCP/IP, DHCP, switches, routers, and wireless networking.
• Experience installing and troubleshooting IP camera and video surveillance systems.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and installation documentation.
• Knowledge of low-voltage electrical wiring and DC-powered equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal education or technical training in Electronic Security, Access Control, Networking, or a related field.
• Industry certifications or manufacturer certifications are a plus.
• Experience with enterprise access control and video management platforms.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
