About the Role

The Concourse Project is looking for Security Hosts to join our team of hospitality-first security professionals who keep guests, artists, and staff safe while delivering the warm, welcoming experience our venue is known for. This isn’t a “stand and stare” security job. You will be the first friendly face guests see at the door. A calm, capable presence throughout the night, blending situational awareness with genuine customer service.

What You’ll DoGuest Experience & Venue Safety

• Greet guests warmly at entry points, checking tickets/wristbands and verifying ID for age and authenticity
• Monitor assigned zones (entrances, GA floor, bars, VIP areas, backstage, perimeter) for safety hazards, overcrowding, or policy violations
• Intervene and de-escalate conflicts calmly and professionally before situations escalate
• Assist guests with accessibility needs, lost items, and general questions while acting as a resource, not just a gatekeeper
• Monitor alcohol service areas for signs of intoxication and support responsible service practices in coordination with bar staff

Security Operations

• Conduct bag checks and prohibited item screening per venue policy
• Respond to medical situations by alerting appropriate staff/EMS and assisting until help arrives
• Communicate clearly with the security team, venue management, and touring/production staff via radio
• Complete incident reports accurately and promptly when required
• Support load-in/load-out perimeter control and artist/guest escort as needed
• Represent The Concourse Project’s brand and values in every guest interaction

QualificationsRequired

• Must be 21+
• Texas DPS Level II Non-Commissioned Security Officer Certification (or ability to obtain before start date)
• TABC Seller-Server Certification (or willingness to obtain within the first week of employment)
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods (4–8+ hour shifts), including lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays around a live event schedule
• Strong verbal communication and conflict-resolution skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct

Preferred

• Prior experience in live music, nightlife, or event security (venues, festivals, bars, or clubs)
• CPR/AED certification (preferred)
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
• Familiarity with Austin’s live music scene and venue culture
