Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, professional, and compassionate Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our mental health care facility. This role requires strong situational awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and respectful when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be committed to maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor facility entrances, exits, and common areas to ensure a secure environment.
• Conduct routine patrols of the interior and exterior premises.
• Assist clinical staff in managing patient-related incidents while maintaining professionalism and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, disturbances, or safety concerns.
• Ensure that all visitors follow facility procedures, including sign-in protocols.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities in accurate and detailed reports.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff, administration, and other security personnel to maintain facility safety standards.
• Uphold confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and facility guidelines.
• Maintain a calm, patient-centered approach when interacting with individuals experiencing emotional or mental distress.

Qualifications:

• Active Security Guard License/Guard Card (state-required).
• Prior experience in healthcare security, behavioral health, or similar environments preferred.
• Strong de-escalation, conflict-resolution, and communication skills.
• Ability to remain composed in high-stress or unpredictable situations.
• Basic report-writing and documentation skills.
• Must pass background checks and any required facility screenings.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
• Capability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
• Occasional lifting or physical intervention may be required, using proper techniques.
