Flex Security Officer-Unarmed (SXSW events)

Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and professional Flex Security Officers to provide unarmed security services during SXSW events. This role requires vigilant monitoring, excellent conflict management skills, and the ability to ensure the safety of attendees, staff, and property. Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of designated venues to ensure security protocols are followed and identify potential issues early.
• Assist with crowd control and manage conflicts or disturbances in a calm, professional manner.
• Enforce event policies and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
• Provide first aid or CPR is preferred but not required
• Document incidents accurately and report security concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter inappropriate behavior and promote a safe environment for all participants.

Skills

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or related fields is highly desirable.
• Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
• Certifications in first aid, CPR, or emergency response are advantageous.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Excellent observational skills with attention to detail for identifying potential security threats.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with team members, event attendees, and emergency personnel.
• Familiarity with security protocols and law enforcement procedures is preferred but not mandatory. This role is vital in ensuring the safety and success of SXSW events by providing vigilant security coverage in a dynamic environment. Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
