Position Overview

Amerishield Security Group is seeking reliable, professional, and observant Level II Non-Commissioned Patrol Security Officers to join our overnight patrol team in Austin.

Patrol Officers drive an assigned route in a company-provided security vehicle and perform regular security patrols at various apartment communities. Officers are responsible for protecting client properties, securing designated amenities, responding to dispatch calls, deterring trespassing, and documenting all patrol activity.

The ideal candidate must be punctual, dependable, capable of working independently, and able to remain calm and professionally de-escalate difficult or confrontational situations.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Patrols: Drive an assigned overnight patrol route using a company-provided security vehicle and perform thorough vehicle and foot patrols throughout each assigned apartment community.

Property Inspections: Inspect buildings, parking areas, pools, fitness centers, laundry rooms, common areas, gates, doors, and other designated locations for suspicious activity, safety hazards, or maintenance concerns.

Pool and Amenity Lockups: Secure pools and other designated community amenities at their scheduled closing times.

Dispatch Response: Respond professionally and promptly to calls involving:

• Noise complaints and disturbances
• Trespassing, loitering, or unauthorized individuals on client properties
• Suspicious persons or activity
• Unsecured gates, doors, and common areas
• Property damage or vandalism
• Safety hazards and reports of unsafe conditions on client properties

Trespass Prevention: Maintain a proactive security presence to discourage unauthorized individuals from entering or remaining on client properties.

Conflict De-escalation: Use professional communication and verbal de-escalation techniques to calmly resolve disputes, disturbances, and confrontational situations.

Emergency Response: Contact law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical services, or property management when circumstances require additional assistance.

Incident Documentation: Complete clear, accurate, detailed, and timely patrol reports, incident reports, and documentation of maintenance or safety concerns.

Operational Communication: Maintain professional communication with dispatchers, supervisors, residents, clients, law enforcement, and property maintenance personnel.

Requirements

Punctuality: Absolute reliability is required. Officers must report to work on time and be prepared to begin their assigned patrol route as scheduled.

Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Security License: Must possess a current Texas Level II Non-Commissioned Security Officer Guard Card.

Reliable Personal Transportation: Must have a dependable personal vehicle for transportation to and from work. Reliance on public transportation is not suitable for this position.

Working Phone: Must possess a reliable, fully functioning mobile phone with active voice and data service for communication with dispatch and supervisors and for completing required patrol documentation.

De-escalation Skills: Must be able to remain calm, communicate professionally, and de-escalate difficult or confrontational situations.

Writing Skills: Must possess excellent writing skills and be capable of preparing clear, accurate, and detailed security reports.

Communication Skills: Must possess excellent verbal communication skills and interact professionally with residents, clients, dispatchers, supervisors, and law enforcement.

Independent Work: Must be able to work independently, manage an assigned route, follow instructions, and comply with site-specific procedures.

Attention to Detail: Must be observant and capable of identifying security concerns, suspicious behavior, property damage, and safety hazards.

Language Skills: Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Fluency in a second language is considered a significant advantage but is not required.

Shift Availability

This is an overnight patrol position with consistent scheduling. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available. This position does not require rotating between daytime and overnight shifts.
