Job Description

As a Security Officer – Armed Zone Patrol Driver in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal on an armed, driving patrol post at a leading tech and telecommunications location. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service with clear communication. What You’ll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify identification and/or authorization, and assist with visitor management procedures in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate personnel, coordinating with local law enforcement when directed, and preserving the scene as required.
  • Operate in compliance with all armed post requirements, including proper weapon handling and retention practices, and complete timely documentation such as activity logs, incident reports, and shift turnover notes.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3+ years’ combined law enforcement, military, and/or security experience OR a college degree.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
