Job Description

As a Security Guard – Armed Patrol Driver in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a dynamic tech and telecommunications location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, support access control and badging, and respond to incidents with calm, professional communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license and an armed guard card or license. Guided by Allied Universal values, you will stay visible, collaborate with site teams, and help create a secure, welcoming environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a technology-focused location.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, labs, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes; document observations and report unusual activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications, securing areas, and assisting with scene control until relieved.
  • Monitor access control points and visitor processing as assigned, verifying authorization, issuing badges when required, and helping to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Operate surveillance, alarm, and communications equipment as assigned, and complete timely written reports, shift logs, and incident documentation per site requirements.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3+ years combined law enforcement/military/security experience OR a college degree.
  • Have an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
