Senior Safety & Security Officer

AECOM is seeking to immediately fill a position for a Senior Safety & Security Officer in our Austin, TX Office. The ideal candidate should be very familiar with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) System Safety and Security Certification (SSC) process and associated activities. A well-qualified candidate will also be conversant with SMS/Safety Risk Management, FRA system safety for passenger rail, State Safety Oversight Agency (SSOA) relationships and reporting requirements, safety event investigations, risk-based inspection requirements, and the development and annual review requirements for Public Transportation Agency Safety Plans (PTASPs).

Job Responsibilities:

• Transit Safety & Security Certification Program Process and Oversight
• Transit Safety & Security Certification Documentation and Oversight
• Transit Safety & Security Design Review
• Transit Safety & Security Hazard and Vulnerability Analysis/Assessment
• Design Criteria Conformance Certification and Oversight
• SOP Review and/or Development
• PTASP Development and Annual Review Process

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS + 10 years of related or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

• FTA TSSP Bus/Rail Certification (or ability to acquire within 18 months)
• Public Transportation Safety Certification Training Program (PTSCTP)
• State Safety Oversight (SSO) Support for State DOTs
• Technical Experience in Safety Risk Management
• CPTED Experience
