Security Dog Handler

Overview

Join our dynamic security team as a Security Dog Handler and play a vital role in safeguarding our facilities through specialized canine patrols and security operations. This energetic position combines the use of trained security dogs with advanced surveillance techniques to deter theft, prevent loss, and respond swiftly to security incidents. As a key member of our asset protection team, you will ensure a safe environment for staff, visitors, and assets while maintaining high standards of professionalism and vigilance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of the premises using trained security dogs to monitor for suspicious activity or potential threats
• Utilize CCTV systems to oversee critical areas, identify anomalies, and support surveillance efforts
• Perform loss prevention activities by inspecting for signs of theft or vandalism and implementing preventative measures
• Respond promptly to security alarms or incidents, coordinating with emergency services when necessary
• Maintain detailed logs of patrols, incidents, and surveillance activities to ensure accurate record-keeping
• Assist in conducting safety checks and providing first aid support in case of minor injuries or emergencies
• Educate staff and visitors on security protocols and enforce access control procedures

Experience

• Prior experience working with security dogs or in canine handling is highly preferred
• Knowledge of surveillance systems such as CCTV operation and monitoring techniques
• Familiarity with loss prevention strategies and theft deterrence methods
• Basic first aid certification or ability to provide immediate assistance during emergencies
• Strong observational skills with an eye for detail during patrols and surveillance activities
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively under pressure in high-stakes situations
