Every shift is a mission: protect history, ensure safety, and deliver excellence.

About the Role

Are you an experienced security professional with a passion for delivering exceptional service? The City Surveyor’s Department is seeking a proactive Snr. Security Supervisor (Beadle) to lead the security at the prestigious Guildhall Complex. You will play a vital role in safeguarding the building, supporting high-profile events, and ensuring the highest standards of customer service, safety and security.

Key Responsibilities

As the Guildhall Senior Security Supervisor (Beadle), you will be responsible for implementing security policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) across the Guildhall Complex, including during events. This ensures that the highest standards of security and safety are consistently maintained for all staff, visitors, and guests.

You will manage the deployment of security staff, monitoring their performance and overseeing their training and development. Your approach should focus on achieving operational excellence while maintaining cost-effectiveness throughout all security operations.

A crucial aspect of the role involves overseeing the relationship with the City of London’s corporate security provider. You will be expected to escalate any service issues as necessary to ensure that the standard of service remains high.

Supporting the planning and delivery of events at the Guildhall is a key part of your duties. You will act as Bronze for specific occasions, providing direct support and leadership during these events. In addition, you will advise and assist the Events team, ensuring that security personnel are deployed effectively to meet the needs of each event.

You will also be responsible for maximising the use of security equipment, ensuring that all systems are fully functional. Prompt reporting of any defects is required to minimise downtime and maintain security integrity.

In emergency situations, you will coordinate the response and liaise with emergency services as appropriate, including managing the activation of fire safety systems.

Handling complaints, feedback, incidents, and conflicts in a professional manner is essential. All actions and outcomes should be reported promptly to the Security Operations Manager to ensure transparency and effective follow-up.

You will also perform ceremonial duties at prestigious events such as the Court of Common Council and State Banquets, upholding the traditions and reputation of the Guildhall.

Finally, you will promote and implement the City of London’s Occupational Health and Safety and Equal Opportunity policies, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and respectful working environment for all.
