Job Description

Location: Watford FC Stadium
Contract Type: Casual / Part-time
Pay Rate: £12.50 – £15 per hour (dependent on experience and SIA licensing)

About the Role Join the heart of the action at Watford FC. We are looking for professional, vigilant, and customer-focused Security Officers to ensure our supporters, players, and staff have a safe and world-class experience. Whether you are managing the buzzing atmosphere of a sold-out matchday or protecting club assets during midweek training, you will be a vital part of our safety team. Key Responsibilities

  • Crowd Management: Monitor crowd movements and behaviour to identify potential issues and ensure a smooth flow of spectators throughout the venue.
  • Access Control: Conduct thorough ticket checks, manage entry/exit points, and perform bag/person searches to prevent prohibited items from entering the stadium.
  • Incident Response: Act as a first responder to emergencies or disturbances, following established club protocols to de-escalate situations calmly and professionally.
  • Asset Protection: Conduct regular patrols of the stadium and training grounds to identify security breaches or hazards.
  • Customer Service: Act as a helpful and friendly face for the club, providing information to fans and assisting with traffic or parking management.

What You’ll Need (Essential Requirements)

  • Licensing: A valid SIA Door Supervisor is mandatory for frontline security roles.
  • Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Background: Must be able to provide a 5-year checkable work history and pass an enhanced background check.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to stand and walk for long periods, often outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Communication: Fluent written and spoken English with the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Spectator Safety.
  • SIA CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) Licence.
  • Valid Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate.
  • Previous experience in high-footfall event security or stadium operations.
