Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Dog Handler to join our security team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging trained security dogs to ensure the safety and security of premises, assets, and personnel. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observation skills, and the ability to work effectively in various environments. The Security Dog Handler will play a vital part in loss prevention, surveillance, and maintaining a secure environment through the utilisation of specialised canine units.

Duties

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas using trained security dogs to deter unauthorised access and detect potential security breaches.
  • Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV to observe activity and identify suspicious behaviour.
  • Assist in loss prevention activities by inspecting premises for vulnerabilities and preventing theft or vandalism.
  • Respond promptly to security alarms or incidents, providing immediate assistance and documentation as required.
  • Maintain detailed records of patrols, incidents, and canine activities in accordance with company policies.
  • Provide first aid assistance when necessary, ensuring safety and well-being of all personnel on site.
  • Collaborate with other security personnel to coordinate effective security measures and emergency responses.
  • Ensure the proper care, handling, and training of security dogs to optimise their performance.

Experience

  • Prior experience in security operations or law enforcement is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
  • Knowledge of surveillance techniques, including CCTV operation and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with loss prevention strategies and procedures is advantageous.
  • Basic first aid certification is desirable to respond effectively during emergencies.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and adapt to different environments.
  • Strong observational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Pay: £12.21-£16.00 per hour
