Retail Security Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and professional Retail Security Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure retail environment for customers, staff, and assets. This role requires strong observational skills, a proactive approach to loss prevention, and excellent customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store premises through regular patrols and CCTV surveillance
• Prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms
• Provide a visible security presence to deter criminal activity
• Assist customers and staff in a professional and courteous manner
• Conduct bag checks and enforce store policies where required
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain daily logs
• Liaise with store management and law enforcement when necessary

Qualifications

• Valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence (required in the UK)
• Previous experience in retail security or a similar role preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Good observational and problem-solving skills
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
• Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £12.71-£12.99 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
