Security – The Yale Saloon

The Yale Saloon is looking for a experienced and dedicated Security Guard to join our team!

Who You Are:

Our Security Guard team does more than ensure the safety and security of our guests, staff, and property. As the first point of contact, you act as a Brand Ambassador—greeting guests warmly, assisting as needed, and taking charge when issues arise. You help create a welcoming environment while maintaining a safe, enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

The Fine Print:

Guest Experience & Access Control

• Greet all guests upon arrival and provide a positive first impression.
• Check identification and enforce age restrictions in compliance with B.C. liquor laws.
• Manage guest flow and monitor venue capacity throughout the night.
• Conduct bag checks when required.
• Refuse entry (or request departure) of visibly intoxicated individuals in a safe, professional manner.

Safety & Incident Response

• Maintain a secure, positive atmosphere across the venue.
• Communicate effectively with team members and provide support as needed.
• De-escalate conflicts using tact and sound judgment.
• Complete incident reports and all required documentation for security-related events.

General

• Assist with additional tasks as assigned by management.

What We’re Looking For:

• 
  Valid Security Worker Licence (British Columbia).
• 
  Serving It Right certification.
• 
  First Aid & CPR certification.
• Availability to work Thursday–Sunday evenings and holidays.
• Experience conducting government-issued ID checks.
• Knowledge of the Liquor Licence and Control Act.
• Experience in bars, nightclubs, or concert venues is an asset.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Terms & Expectations

• You will be required to work inside and outside in all types of weather conditions including hot, cold, summer, winter, rain or shine
