Job Description

Join the SSR Security team as a full-time Security Professional! SSR is committed to delivering excellence in both protection and guest experience. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining a secure environment while providing outstanding customer service to clients. As an SSR Security Professional with SSR (Safety, Security, and Risk Management), our work is dynamic, with sites and schedules that change, you’ll gain valuable experience across BC with different locations Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Squamish & beyond.

Job Requirements:

  • Valid Security Worker License (BST) – Required.
  • Must have an open full-time availability – Required.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License and a clean Driver’s Abstract is considered an asset.
  • High School Diploma – Required; additional training or education in criminology or law enforcement is considered an asset.
  • Must be legally permitted to work full-time in Canada (valid work authorization required; study permits limited to part-time hours do not qualify).
  • Excellent observation, communication, and decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Bondable and able to successfully pass a security clearance.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a diverse team, while adhering to SSR protocols and procedures.
  • Open and flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively with local law enforcement agencies and the RCMP when required.
  • Must successfully complete SSR Security’s pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and comply with company policies at all times.
  • Must consistently demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and alignment with SSR’s values of Safety, Security, and Risk Management.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough access control procedures, including screening, bag checks, and verification of credentials, to prevent unauthorized access to SSR Security sites.
  • Monitor assigned locations to proactively detect, assess, and resolve potential safety or security concerns.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, assisting clients, tenants, or visitors with inquiries, directions, and support while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement, including the RCMP, Municipal Police, and other agencies to support public safety, regulatory compliance, and coordinated incident response.
  • Enforce site-specific and company-wide policies, procedures, and regulations while prioritizing the safety and well-being of all guests, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain situational awareness at all times, observing behaviours and environments to identify and mitigate potential risks or disturbances.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with fellow SSR team members, site personnel, and emergency responders as required.
  • Patrol and monitor SSR Security sites to ensure ongoing safety of all areas, assets, and individuals present.
  • Respond to incidents in accordance with SSR protocols, including the safe removal of unauthorized individuals or trespassers from restricted areas.
  • Complete professional verbal and written communication in all reporting, incident documentation, and interactions.
  • As part of employment with SSR Security, you will also be required to work at events when scheduled. Duties may include crowd management, access control, and supporting event organizers in maintaining public safety.
  • Flexibility is essential, as schedules, assignments, and locations may change to meet operational requirements within the security industry.

Training and Travel

Paid site-specific training will be provided to the selected candidates. For remote work locations, SSR Security will provide accommodation and transportation as required. Candidates must be able and willing to travel to various sites across the Lower Mainland

Pay: $17.85-$20.00 per hour
