What You’ll Do

As a Retail Security Officer, you’ll help create a safe and welcoming environment for customers, employees, and visitors while maintaining a professional security presence throughout the store.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintain a professional and visible presence to deter theft and unwanted activity.
• Conduct regular patrols throughout the store, sales floor, entrances, exits, and designated areas.
• Remain alert and attentive while observing customer activity and identifying potential security concerns.
• Provide professional customer service, assist with inquiries, and support store staff when required.
• Respond appropriately to incidents, disturbances, safety concerns, and other situations.
• Observe, identify, and report suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel.
• Complete clear, accurate, and professional incident reports and daily activity logs.
• Communicate effectively with store management, Loss Prevention, and other security personnel.
• Support a safe, secure, and positive environment for customers and staff.

This Role Is Active

This is not a sit-down security position.

You must be comfortable standing and walking throughout the store for the full duration of your shift, while remaining alert and engaged with your surroundings.

Strong report writing is also an important part of the role. You will be expected to document incidents clearly, accurately, and professionally.

What We’re Looking For

• Valid BC Security Worker License (BST) in good standing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write clear, detailed, and professional incident reports.
• Strong observation and situational awareness.
• Professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with challenging situations.
• Willingness to learn and develop within the security industry.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
• Previous retail, customer service, security, or related experience is an asset.
• 
  Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout an 8-hour shift.
