Position Overview

Title: Hospital Security Guard

Employment Type: Part-time / Casual

Pay Rate: $23.58/hour

Schedule: Afternoon shifts (1500-2300hrs) or Overnight shifts (2300-0700hrs)

This healthcare site provides essential medical services to the community. It is a dynamic, active environment where staff, patients, and visitors rely on a visible and reassuring security presence to maintain a safe, safe, and supportive space 24/7.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Respond promptly to alarms, safety incidents, and emergency requests.

• Use verbal de-escalation skills to resolve conflicts and handle challenging situations safely.

• Conduct regular patrols throughout the facility to detect safety hazards and maintain security.

• Complete detailed incident reports and missing patient reports accurately and on time.

• Provide approachable, helpful customer service to patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

• Follow all health and safety guidelines, including using required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Protect private and confidential medical and personal information with high discretion.

Must Haves

• Valid BC Security License.

• Legal authorization to work in Canada.

• Customer service experience.

• Ability to remain calm, composed, and decisive during emergencies.

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Reliable judgment when handling confidential information.

Nice-to-Haves

• Advanced Security Training (AST certification).

• Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA 2).
