Security Guard

We are seeking a reliable and professional Full-Time Security Guard to join our team at the Shipyards. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining safety, security, and professionalism across all shifts and events on-site.

Shift Schedule:

• On-Call
• 7:00PM to 7:00AM
• 3:00PM to 11:00PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Train and mentor security guards assigned to the site, including venue shifts, shipyard shifts, and special event shifts.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure safety and security standards are maintained.
• Monitor and apply appropriate security measures in public areas, adapting approach to suit both public and private property.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, promptly addressing their needs and concerns.
• Perform all standard security duties as required and in accordance with training provided.
• Remain calm, alert, and professional during stressful or high-pressure situations, ensuring sound judgment and effective decision-making.
• Access and review security camera footage when necessary, and coordinate with police by providing video evidence when required.
• Collaborate and maintain contact with other staff working on-site to provide timely assistance when needed.
• Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of site layouts, security protocols, and emergency procedures to effectively manage incidents.
• Complete special tasks assigned by management, ensuring they are reviewed, prioritized, and completed before deadlines.

Requirements:

• Valid BC Security Worker License.
• Previous security experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain professional and composed in high-pressure environments.
• Reliable, punctual, and adaptable.

Pay: $17.85-$20.00 per hour
