Position Overview

The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of assigned

premises, personnel, and property. This role requires strong situational awareness,

excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively to

incidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor premises regularly to maintain order and security.
• Control access to buildings and restricted areas.
• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and security incidents.
• Write accurate and detailed incident reports.
• Monitor security cameras and surveillance systems.
• Assist law enforcement or emergency personnel as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional manner
• Follow all company security protocols and procedures.
• Check receipts if needed depending on the companies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Valid security guard license (required)
• Proven, high level of customer service.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergencies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Physically able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
• Must pass background check.
• First Aid Certification is an asset
• Valid drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle

Working Conditions

• Shifts may include days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
• On call shifts
• Indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• May involve long periods of standing or patrolling.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $17.85-$19.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Richmond, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
