Security Officer (Elite/AST/LPO)

Blackbird Security is currently hiring Security Officers (Elite/AST/LPO) for multiple sites across Metro Vancouver, BC, including retail stores, events, luxury stores, restaurants, and warehouses.

What you will do

• Prevent shoplifter theft in a retail environment while providing customer service to clients, patrons and customers.
• Patrol store aisles, monitor customers, and watch security camera footage.
• Confront individuals you suspect of theft, who have unpaid merchandise.
• Escort trespassers out of the client premises.
• Perform arrests, detainments, and recover unpaid merchandise
• Complete required documentation for security incidents such as theft and violations.
• Escalate situation to law enforcement as required.
• Respond to emergency situations appropriately in a timely manner.

The Ideal Candidate

• A Valid Security License is required (BST)
• Advanced Security Training (AST) – Certification for AST roles
• Experience with arrests and detaining shoplifting
• Previous security experience in a retail environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, is required
• Willingness to attend meetings and improve skills
• Ability to work without close supervision
• A keen interest in asset protection and crime prevention

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
