Crossing Guard – Field Response

Job Description
Synergy Protection Group is hiring Field Response Team Members to provide immediate operational support for our School Crossing Guard Program. This field-based role is responsible for responding to staffing vacancies and operational needs to help ensure safe, uninterrupted crossing guard coverage for students and pedestrians.

Must live in M4, M5, or M6 postal codes – no exceptions

Shift Timings:

Monday – Friday: 7:00am-9:00am, 11:00am-1:00pm, 2:30pm-4:00pm

Main Duties:

• Provide coverage for vacant shifts as directed by management
• Respond promptly to operations requests requiring immediate support
• Assist children and pedestrians crossing the street using safe judgment and following legislation
• Clear communication of crossing instructions
• Report any incidents, injuries, hazards, or unusual occurrences to Field Supervisor
• Maintain professionalism when interacting with the public

Job Requirement

Must have a recent Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or be able to obtain a VSS and provide a copy of the results during the onboarding process.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE – What you will bring?

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Keen alertness to surrounding and ability to follow directions and procedures.
• Ability to maintain high degree of mental concentration, with visual and hearing ability to recognize traffic at a safe distance.
• Ability to walk pedestrians safely across busy intersections and react safely and decisively to traffic conditions.
• Ability to work in diverse weather conditions (cold, snow, heat, humidity, wind etc.)
• Be punctual and remain on the assigned location for the duration of shifts (mornings, lunch and dismissal)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
