Undercover Loss Prevention Guards – Peel/York Region

Securiguard is seeking passionate and experienced individuals to join our Loss Prevention (plain clothes) Program. Join us in this elite role, where your vigilance and dedication contribute to the overall success of reducing shrinkage for our retail partner.

The Day to Day

As a Loss Prevention Investigator at Securiguard, your role involves safeguarding the assets and minimizing losses for our retail client. You will conduct undercover surveillance, employing your keen observational skills to identify and prevent theft, fraud, or other security infractions. You will interact with customers and employees to deter shoplifting incidents while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Your role includes investigating suspicious activities and collaborating with mall security and law enforcement when necessary, and you will complete detailed incident reports. We are seeking candidates who strive for excellence and are committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for both staff and customers.

What you bring:

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First AidCPR
• 
  Undercover Loss Prevention experience is preferred
• At least 1 year of tactical security experience in a high-profile customer-focused environment such as retail/mall, government, or healthcare/respite shelters. Loss Prevention Knowledge is an asset.
• 
  Police foundations, Criminal Justice Studies (etc) background is an asset
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong observational skills and situational awareness
• Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed incident reports
• Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act (TPA), Canada Criminal Code and 494(c)
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
• Ability to conduct arrests in appropriate and sanctioned situations.
• Military/Police background/Law Enforcement background is an asset
• Ability to commute between multiple locations within TorontoGTA
• Having a valid Driver’s License (G2/G)personal vehicle is an asset
