Full-Time Tactical Security Guard – Educational Campus (Downtown Toronto)

Pay: $17.60–$18.50 per hour
Hours: 36–48 per week (12-hour Continental Shifts)
Location: Downtown Toronto – No parking available on site

We are hiring Full-Time Tactical Security Guards for a major educational campus in Downtown Toronto. This role is ideal for experienced security professionals who excel in fast-paced environments, have strong situational awareness, and are confident in crisis response and community interaction.

Major Responsibilities

Student & Community Support

· Build positive relationships with student residents

· Support a safe, respectful community environment

· Promote a secure atmosphere that contributes to academic success

Patrols & Crisis Response

· Conduct proactive patrols to address policy concerns

· Respond to alarms and emergencies professionally

· De-escalate crises and liaise with emergency services

· Provide first aid and assist in missing persons situations

Access Control & Enforcement

· Enforce the Trespass to Property Act

· Screen, manage, and remove unauthorized persons

· Conduct lawful arrests when required

Monitoring & Reporting

· Monitor CCTV surveillance systems

· Maintain detailed memo books and incident reports

· Collect statements and conduct key/radio/pager audits

· Manage Lost & Found procedures

Property Safety

· Ensure security systems are functioning properly

· Report unsafe working conditions

Candidate Requirements & Considerations

We’re looking for candidates who can answer yes to the following:

· Are you comfortable working at a college facility?

· Are you currently in school, or returning to school in January of 2026?

· Do you drive or take public transit?

· Can you work 12-hour shifts including days, evenings, and overnights?

Qualifications

· Valid Ontario Security Guard License

· Minimum 1 year of security experience

· Ability to stand/patrol 8–12 hours and work in all weather conditions

· Strong communication and observational skills

· High emotional intelligence and professionalism
