Position Overview:

- Schedule: Monday to Friday (0830-1630)

Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License and Standard First Aid & CPR.
- Minimum 4 years of Full time Tactical Security Guard experience in Commercial Section or related field experience is a must.
- 3 years of Security Supervisor, leadership or combination of equivalent roles and education is a must.
- Must be well versed in CCure 9000 access control system.
- Must have good knowledge of CCTV systems to conduct investigations.
- Must have experience dealing with vendor management.
- Must have experience organizing drills for complex including security team and tenant occupants.
- Must have exposure of attending boardroom meetings with tenants to deal with complex issues and provide solutions.
- Educational background in Law enforcement, Police Foundations, Security and Investigations, Criminology, or related subjects is considered an asset.
Skills:
- A fundamental knowledge of state-of-the-art security technology such as alarm and access control systems, CCTV systems, communications technologies, and general MS software programs.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must demonstrate high attention to detail / observational awareness.
- Must possess strong knowledge on Section 494, Trespass to Property Act and other related criminal code of conducts.
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a team.
Working Conditions:
- Parking available at the site.
- Long period of standing, walking and patrolling may involve depending on the work requirements.
- Could be exposed to hazardous situations and conditions when responding to or managing emergencies or incidents.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training to on-site security guards directly reporting to the Paragon Security – Client Service Manager and the Property Manager/General Manager for the site.
- Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, in a fair and safe manner, by enforcing the Trespass to Property Act.
- Always Maintaining communications with fellow Shift Supervisors, Security Guards, Management, Customer Service and Maintenance staff.
- Be observant and record all discrepancies, deficiencies and safety hazards noted during security patrols and take corrective action either informing the applicable department or handling it personally, whenever possible.
- Perform administrator and/or custodian duties as required for the various systems used by the Team including but not limited to radio communications, incident management, patrol reporting, inspection and check to report, dispatching, key management, and emergency notification. This will include scheduling and/or facilitating system preventative maintenance and upgrades for the CCTV system and key management system.
- Ensure all staff complete detailed and accurate incident reports before the end of their shift and within a reasonable time frame.
- Help develop a healthy environment in which tenants have concern and respect for the rights of others.
- Enthusiastically conducts proactive patrols to build relationships with tenants, address policy breeches, and note facility concerns.
- Ability to de-escalate a crisis situation, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire and paramedic resources.
- Respond to all emergency response needs such as providing first aid, missing persons, etc.
- Maintain, organize, and file all staff training records, application records, disciplinary records, and security license records, and provide all records to Paragon Management upon request.
- Ensure that the property is safe by ensuring all security measures are functioning properly.
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems.
- Work closely with the vendors to oversee deficiencies, obtain quotations from vendors and submit to Property Management for approval.
- Maintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters dealt with.
- Obtain statements and collect information for Incident.
- Logging in/out of Key, Radio, and pager audits.
- Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries.
- Report any unsafe working conditions in any/all departments.
