Position: Security Dispatcher

Hours: Monday to Friday 0600-1400-1400-2200 – Rotating

Pay Rate: $22.00/hr.

Site Description:

CF Markville, also known as Markville Shopping Centre in the Cadillac Fairview chain of malls, is a shopping mall of over 140 stores in Markham, Ontario, Canada. It is located at the intersection of Highway 7 East and McCowan Road

Job Description:

To deliver a consistent and outstanding level of customer service to clients by actively seeking out opportunities to provide assistance and support. Working on assigned shifts, to act as a deterrent to crime and undesired activity and help to maintain a visibly safe and welcoming property environment. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to emergencies quickly and efficiently.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Dispatch and coordinate security personnel
• Liaise with management, emergency services, and staff
• Enforce property rules, access control, and safety procedures
• Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations
• Conduct patrols and monitor CCTV systems
• Investigate incidents and complete reports
• Manage trespassing and unauthorized access
• Support fire, life safety, and law enforcement activities
• De-escalate conflicts and provide customer service
• Assist with daily operations and other assigned duties

Qualifications:

• Must be willing and able to stand, walk, patrol by foot and vehicle for extended periods (8-12 hours)
• Must demonstrated a high degree of professionalism
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must have a strong command and fluency in the English language both written and verbal
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment both indoors and outdoors as required.
• Must be able to handle stress and pressure and make a sound decision under duress
• Must be conformable working in a busy highly populated area
• Must have a clean driver abstract
• Must demonstrate high attention to detail / observational awareness
• Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a team

Prerequisites:

• Legally Authorized to work Full-Time in Canada
• A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Must possess a valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification (WSIB-approved). Please note, this is different from Level C or Emergency First Aid certification.
• Must have a G/G2 class drivers license with a clear drivers abstract.
