SUMMARY

About the Role – Security Officer

Hourly Rate: $27.58

As a Security Officer at Park Hyatt Toronto, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our guests and colleagues. You will be responsible for executing the hotel’s safety protocols, responding to emergencies, and upholding the highest standards of service in alignment with our commitment to Forbes 5-Star excellence.

This role requires a proactive approach, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to provide discreet and professional service at all times. You will serve as a visible and reassuring presence throughout the property, ensuring a secure atmosphere while delivering the warm, thoughtful hospitality that defines Park Hyatt Toronto.

The position will generally include three days assigned to Writers’ Room security duties and two days assigned to lobby security duties, based on operational requirements.

Some of the responsibilities include:

• Respond promptly and professionally to guest and colleague emergencies and incidents.
• Complete thorough and accurate incident reports and assist with follow-up investigations.
• Provide basic first aid and coordinate emergency response as required.
• Monitor all areas of the property through regular patrols and surveillance systems.
• Manage security arrangements for VIP guests and high-profile arrivals.
• Develop and maintain safety and security procedures in line with hotel standards.
• Support the training and communication of emergency procedures to all departments.
• Participate in risk and safety audits and follow up on required improvements.
• Act as an ambassador of Forbes 5-Star service in all guest and colleague interactions.
• Collaborate with various departments to enhance the overall guest experience.
• Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
• Perform Writers’ Room security duties as assigned.
• Perform lobby security duties as assigned.

• A genuine desire to care for others and support a luxury service environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm, composed, and effective in high-pressure situations.
• Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and incident reporting systems.
• Previous experience in hospitality security or a similar customer-facing role is preferred.
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License is required.
• First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset.
