Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the hotel property, assets, guests, visitors and employees by implementing directing and maintaining policies and procedures in order to prevent and/or minimize losses.
Role and Responsibilities
Pool Responsibilities
- Unlock pool access at daily opening (Main North Entrance, Large roll-up door, Perch Bar door(s) access). Lock pool access at evening closing.
- Assist with access control at all pool entrances/Support the pool attendant when required (authorized users only).
- Monitor all pool activities
- Enforce all pool policies (no diving, no food or drink inside the pool, no glass is permitted on pool desk, no smoking of any kind (vaping included) or use of narcotics, proper swimming attire required, no boisterous activity, no animals are permitted.
- Attentive to all activities in your assigned location.-Report any physical safety hazards (tripping hazards, damaged hotel property, intoxicated guest(s), irate guest(s) or any other issues of concern).
- Familiar with pool area safety equipment, AED, First-Aid Kit, Accessible Pool Chair Lift, First-Aid body spine backboard, reels rescue hook, ring buoy, Emergency Wall Phone
- Open communication with In-House Security, request support when required.
Parking Responsibilities
- Responsible for greeting arriving and departing guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Act as traffic controller to direct incoming guests to available parking spaces.
- Perform vehicle counts on location throughout shift to ensure garage does not over fill available spaces.
- Ensure proper collection of parking tickets are paid by guests, utilizing appropriate payment methods and accurately recording transactions.
- Monitor parking areas, addressing any violations or issues as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year security experience in a Hotel or related industry; experience within a luxury hotel environment is a plus.
- Must be currently licensed as a security guard and/or private investigator by the ministry of community safety and correctional services;
- Certification in CPR First Aid & SmartServe required.
- Familiarity with Canadian and provincial laws for hotels and safety regulations.
- Must have excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills and must be able to interact with all levels of guests in a professional and cordial manner.
- Exceptional organizational/problem solving skills, must be self motivated and very detail oriented.
- Ability to lift weight up to 70 pounds
- Flexible shift availability including evenings, weekends and holidays. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
- Shifts will be weather-dependent, and your schedule may vary based on weather conditions.
