POSITION OVERVIEW
This position will primarily work night shifts, including weekends. Responsible for maintaining a safe environment and supporting staff in delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role involves diligent monitoring of premises, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and promptly addressing any security concerns or disturbances. Working collaboratively with management and other team members to uphold a welcoming atmosphere while prioritizing the well-being of all individuals on-site.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Strong conflict-management and verbal de-escalation skills in high-energy, alcohol-service environments.

High situational awareness with the ability to identify intoxication levels, escalating behaviour, and potential safety risks.

Confident, professional communication style when enforcing house rules, capacity limits, and entry requirements.

Ability to remain calm, controlled, and decisive during disturbances, medical incidents, or emergency situations.

Sound judgment and discretion when making real-time decisions that balance guest safety, compliance, and guest experience.

Firm but respectful approach to rule enforcement, refusals of entry, and removals when required.

Strong teamwork skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with bar staff, management, and other security personnel.

Excellent observation and documentation skills, including the ability to complete clear, accurate incident reports.

Customer-service mindset with the ability to maintain a welcoming but authoritative presence.

Physical stamina to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods in a fast-paced, late-night environment.

Security experience considered an asset

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet and welcome guests

Verify identification for individuals who appear to be under the age of 25 to confirm legal drinking age compliance

Arrange the lineup area in accordance with established store protocols.

Supervise guest queues to maintain orderly flow

Observe guests, and contribute to fostering a culture of safety and security among the team and guests

Work as a team with the management and front of house staff to ensure each guest has a great experience

Express gratitude to departing guests and wish them an enjoyable evening

Monitor premises to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and property.

Control access to the facility by checking identification, monitoring entry points, and enforcing capacity limits where applicable.

Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to identify safety hazards, suspicious activity, or security breaches.

Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, emergencies, or alarms, following established procedures.

De-escalate conflicts using appropriate communication and conflict-management techniques.

Enforce site rules, company policies, and applicable laws in a respectful and non-confrontational manner.

Document incidents, observations, and actions taken in detailed written reports.

Liaise with management, emergency services, or law enforcement when required.

Provide a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, or disorderly conduct.

Assist with crowd control during peak periods or special events.

Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and report unsafe conditions.

Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times while on duty
AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS

This role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Typical shifts range between 4–8 hours and may extend into late night hours.
