Global Link Response Centre Inc. is hiring a full-time Alarm Monitoring Operator for permanent overnight shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) at our on-site monitoring facility in Toronto.
This is an in-person position (not remote); paid training is conducted during daytime hours before transitioning to overnight shifts.

Position Overview
As an Overnight Alarm Monitoring Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring alarm activity during evening and overnight hours, responding to emergency and non-emergency events, and dispatching appropriate authorities when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming alarm signals promptly and in accordance with established procedures
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy, professionalism, and empathy
- Assess alarm events and determine appropriate actions based on account instructions
- Dispatch Police, Fire, Medical, or Guard services when required
- Communicate clearly with customers, keyholders, dealers, and emergency services
- Accurately document all actions and call details in the monitoring system
- Perform data entry and maintain detailed, confidential records
- Remain calm and focused while handling stressful or emotionally charged situations
Schedule & Shift Details
- Permanent overnight position
- Shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 12-hour shifts
- Rotating schedule:
- 3 shifts one week / 4 shifts the following week
- Must be available to work weekends and statutory holidays as part of the rotation
- This is an on-site role
Training Schedule:
- Paid training conducted during daytime hours
- Training period: approximately 4–6 weeks
- Upon completion of training, operators transition to the overnight schedule
Compensation
- $17.60 per hour during training
- $18.00 per hour after successful completion of a 3-month probation period
- Additional 10% overnight shift premium
- Annual wage increases based on performance and tenure
- Additional hourly premium offered for select second languages
- Effective overnight rate after probation is approximately $19.00 per hour, including the shift premium.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., 911 Telecommunications) is preferred, or a high school diploma with equivalent work experience
- Previous experience in a call centre, dispatch, monitoring, or emergency services environment is an asset
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to type 30–60 words per minute
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Criminal record check required
- Reliable transportation is required for overnight shifts
