The MRG Group is looking for experienced and dedicated Jr. Security Guard Team Leads to join our team! Located at 250 Adelaide Street West and 26 Duncan Street in downtown Toronto, this includes The Porch, Rock ‘N’ Horse Saloon, Dublin Calling, Adelaide Hall, Par-Tee Putt, and Par-Tee Pong.

Our Jr. Security Guard Team Leads do more than ensure the safety and security of our guests, staff and buildings. Often as the first point of contact, they are also Brand Ambassadors and help greet guests, see them on their way and be the person on point when an issue may arise.

The Role

• Report to work in uniform at posted schedule time
• Physically able to walk and stand for long periods of time both inside and outside the venues
• Ensure all guests are being greeted as they are entering the property
• ID all patrons who appear to be underage
• Keep track of capacity levels
• Conduct bag search as required
• Ensure patrons who are visibly intoxicated are not permitted to enter (or stay) on the premises in a safe and professional manner
• Effectively communicate with team and offer support as their needs may require
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Proficient customer service and de-escalation experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid Smart Serve Certificate
• Valid First Aid & CPR certification
• Availability to work every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings and holidays
• Experienced and proficient with government issued ID checks (in person testing will be conducted)
• Knowledge of the Liquor Licence and Control Act (in person testing will be conducted)
• Experience working in bars, nightclubs and concert venues is an asset
• Interact with a diverse population, strong interpersonal skills
• Work with minimum supervision and react quickly
• Communicate effectively and calmly in a variety of situations
• Able to work independently or as part of a team
• Completing incidents reports and required documentation for all security incidents

Terms & Expectations

• You will be required to work inside and outside in all types of weather conditions including hot, cold, summer, winter, rain or shine
