Position overview:
Role: Full-Time, Permanent – Concierge Shift
Reports to: Site Supervisor, and 369 Secure Management
Location: Toronto
Schedule one: Sundays (1100 – 2300) Mondays (1500 – 2300) Thursdays (2300 – 0700) and Fridays (2300 – 1100), 88 Hours Biweekly
Schedule two: Mondays (1600 – 2300), Thursdays (2300 – 0700), Fridays (2300 – 1100) and Sundays (1100 – 2300), 78 Hours Biweekly
Rate range: $18 (after completion of probationary period.)
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Ontario security guard license.
- Must hold a valid CPR/first aid level C certification (WSIB approved).
- A minimum security work experience of 2 years is required.
- Must be able to work at any time, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to legally work in Canada.
- Strong understanding of section 494, the trespass to property act, and relevant criminal code sections.
- Education in law-enforcement, police foundations, criminology, security and investigations, or related studies is an asset.
- Ability to maintain objectivity and professionalism.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to work efficiently within a team.
- Must obtain the following certifications: Working at height/Fall protection, Propane safety training, health, and safety awareness, in 4 steps.
- Ability to follow post orders, and emergency procedures.
- Ability to perform foot patrol on multi story and high-rise buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct consistent foot patrols across multiple floors of the high-rise buildings, including stairwells, common areas, and perimeter zones.
- Monitor for trespassers or unauthorized individuals and take appropriate action in accordance with security protocol and the trespass to property act.
- Verify that all access points – including gates, doors, hoist entrances, and storage areas – are secure throughout the shift.
- Observe and report any safety hazards, such as unsecured equipment, open access points, water leaks, structural concerns, or unsafe worker activity.
- Document all patrols, incidents, and irregularities and daily logs and detailed incident reports.
- Monitor contractor and visitor access where required, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter restricted zones.
- Maintain clear communication with site supervisors, project managers, and security management regarding incidents or concerns on-site.
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, and security-related emergencies, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Assist in emergency procedures, including evacuations or first-aid responses if trained and required.
- Ensure all safety and security policies are followed at all times.
Working conditions:
- Exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and active work zones.
- Frequent their climbing and extensive walking throughout a multi-level structure.
- May require working nights, weekends, and rotating schedules.
