Loss Prevention Officer/Security Guard

Secure Force Security is hiring for full-time and part-time Loss Prevention Guards to work at our retail site near Ottawa, ON.

Ideal candidates will have open availability during weekdays and weekends.

Job duties as a Loss Prevention Guard:

• Monitor closed-circuit television to ensure the protection of facilities and company property.
• Identify, monitor, and approach subjects who may have unpaid merchandise or those committing fraud (actively participating in floor walking duties), while blending into environments and carrying out duties discreetly.
• Input detailed and accurate incident reports documenting apprehensions.
• Escort trespassers away from client premises.
• Defuse potentially volatile situations and intervene when necessary.
• Escalate emergency situations to law enforcement as needed.
• Document theft and other security violations

Job Qualifications:

• A Valid Security License is required.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
• Experience with arrests and detaining shoplifters
• Knowledge of all 5 steps to an arrest/detainment of a shoplifter
• Must be proficient in the English language, spoken, written, and via electronics.
• Ability to reliably commute to various locations during shifts as required.
• Open availability of 7 days a week
• Superior observational skills
• Knowledgeable on safety processes and procedures
• Previous experience in security is an asset.
